Harvard’s International Photo Contest

Lamont Library’s Forum Room

CHS GR, in cooperation with CHS DC and the Harvard Office of International Education, organized for a fourth year the Greek section of Harvard’s International Photo Contest.

The contest is open to Harvard students who have participated in summer programs abroad. The CHS, represented by Nicolas Prevelakis and Teresa Wu, awarded a prize to undergraduate Frank DuBose for the best photo taken in Greece and honorary mention to three other contestants.

The sessions were designed and implemented by the program’s director Nicolas Prevelakis (Lecturer in Harvard's Committee on Degrees in Social Studies and Associate Director of Curricular Development, CHS DC) with imput from Kevin Caffrey (Lecturer in Harvard's Committee on Degrees in Social Studies), who taught all of the first week’s sessions. Comparative Cultural Studies Program

This intensive program, the oldest continuously running “Harvard Summer School” abroad, brought twenty-five undergraduates to Greece (19 of them studying at Harvard), for the fourteenth session of annual seminars and site visits. Nicolas Prevelakis (Harvard/CHS) was the academic coordinator; Anna Stavrakopoulou (CHS/Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) offered her invaluable advice and expertise particularly during the program’s session in Thessaloniki. CHS Summer Internship Program in Greece

Lectures and activities related to the interns’ field of study were introduced; interns met with Kenny Morrell, Nicolas Prevelakis, Katerina Flaka (head of EURES in Greece) and all supervisors. CHS GR’s new collaborations with academic departments from throughout Greece link the interns’ field of study more closely with the internships.
