About the internship

Overview

The new Department of Performing and Digital Arts in Nafplio, part of the School of Arts of the University of the Peloponnese, aims to nurture knowledge concerning the performing arts (Performance, Dance, Theater) as well as digital arts, by placing emphasis on their connection and relation with various social applications, technology and education. The Performance (act or installation) functions as the primary ground for innovation in the field of Fine Arts. The new Department was founded to fill the connection gap between Performing and Digital Arts and the convergence of the performing arts and technology is unique in Greece operating only in the town of Nafplio. For more information you can read the DPDA’s study guide.

In the past few years, the Center has been working together with the Nafplio-based Department of Theatre Studies to enable its undergraduates to pursue their internships (a departmental requirement) in the Digital Library of CHS Greece. As of 2022, the Center begins working with the also Nafplio-based Department of Performing and Digital Arts of the University of the Peloponnese (inaugurated in 2019).

Interns work together with CHS Greece staff on CHS's digital projects to further enhance their academic and professional skills by being exposed to Harvard's and CHS's resources and overall agenda. Additionally, interns work with the DPDA supervisors and CHS Greece staff in carrying out thesis research and other course projects while preparing a complete bibliography on a subject, which is made available to fellow students and professors to further support teaching and research in the department.
