CHS Summer Internship Program in Greece

Date:

Monday, May 25, 2015 (All day) to Sunday, June 28, 2015 (All day)

Location:

Nafplio and Athens

Lectures and activities related to the interns’ field of study were introduced; interns met with Kenny Morrell, Nicolas Prevelakis, Katerina Flaka (head of EURES in Greece) and all supervisors. CHS GR’s new collaborations with academic departments from throughout Greece link the interns’ field of study more closely with the internships.

Interns were assigned to local institutions (the National Archaeological Museum of Nafplio, the National Gallery/Nafplio Annex, the Fougaro Cultural Complex, the Europe Direct Information Center/Nafplio Office). In 2015, an additional internship was introduced involving the Organization of Culture, Environment, Sports and Tourism (Greek acronym: DOPPAT) of the Municipality of Nafplio. Interns worked in pairs in all five institutions. US interns undertook an extra research project supervised by professors in their home institutions during their internships.

On the two-day excursion in Athens, the group visited Art Athina among other institutions and sites, where they met with representatives of the Fulbright Foundation of Greece.
