    Welcome reception for CHS Greece

    On the evening of September 29, the CHS had a 'coming out party' in Nafplio, fittingly enough in the Vouleutiko, the Venetian-Ottoman building that had been used briefly as a National Parliament in the 19th century. After a few words of welcome by Mayor Panagiotis Anagnostaras, Professor Gregory Nagy, Professor Ioannis Petropoulos, Mr. Dimitris Antoniou and Ms. Jenny Reilly Kellogg each spoke, introducing themselves and presenting to a packed and rapt audience of Nafpliots a particular facet of the CHS in Greece. A reception followed in the loggia of the Vouleutiko.

    The Fourth International Conference on Ancient Helike and Aigialeia, organized by the Helike Society and the Municipality of Diakopton was held in Nikolaiika of Diakopton from September 1-3, 2007. On September 1, Ioannis Petropoulos gave one of the opening addresses, along with officials from the Ministry of Culture, the Universities of Patras and the Peloponnese, and others attending the conference.
