From June 23 to June 26, 2022, the workshop "Geography and Cosmography in the Byzantine and the Ottoman World" by Harvard University’s Center for Middle Eastern Studies and Boğaziçi University’s Byzantine Studies Research Center will be implemented in collaboration with CHS Greece at the Center's premises in Nafplio. The 20 participants of the workshop are professors, post-doc researchers, and graduate students who will be invited to exchange ideas and offer new takes on the topics discussed, and come from the institutions of Harvard, Boğaziçi University, University of California Berkeley, University of Winnipeg, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, University of Maryland, as well as the Spanish National Research Council and Max Planck Institute for the History of Science. The workshop is organized with the support of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
