About the Olympiad
Overview
After 13 years the important competition returns “home.” CHS Greece and the University of Patras had worked together to organize the International Philosophy Olympiad in Athens, back in 2010. Since then, CHS Greece supports the annual Panhellenic Philosophical Essay Competition for high school students, which is organized by the University of Patras’ Department of Philosophy.
This year, the University of Patras, the Region of Western Greece, CHS Greece, and SPEL join forces to organize the 31st International Philosophy Olympiad in Olympia, Greece. More than 200 students and professors from 50 countries will travel to Greece to participate in the Olympiad that will take place at the premises of the International Olympic Academy, which is ideally located right next to stadium of the ancient Olympic Games.
The topic of this year's Olympiad is “A Life in Fair Competition” and apart from the competitive part of the event, all participants will have the opportunity to attend workshops and lectures from distinguished professors, join excursions around the Peloponnese, and participate in a number of extracurricular activities.
