Overview
On the occasion of the 275th anniversary of the birth and the 190th anniversary of the death of Adamantios Korais, Professor Pericles S. Vallianos will speak at an event dedicated to Adamantios Korais. Pericles Vallianos, born in 1950, studied sociology and history of ideas at Wesleyan and Brandeis Universities in the United States. He specialized in 19th century philosophy with a particular emphasis on the political and social thought of German Idealism. He is the author of many papers, including the book Η αλληλογραφία Κοραή-Τζέφερσον και ο αμερικανικός φιλελληνισμός (The Korais-Jefferson Correspondence and American Philhellenism). The event will be recorded and will be available after the event for asynchronous viewing on the YouTube channel of the Argolis Association of Philologists.
