Last July CHS Greece welcomed the two winning UK poets of the Michael Marks Awards for poetry pamphlets: Rowan Evans, 2019 winner with "The Last Verses of Beccán" (Poetry Award), and Rhys Iorwerth, 2020 winner with "Carthen Denau" (Poetry in a Celtic Language Award).

As part of their awards, the two poets visited various places in Greece, starting off from Olympia where they attended the annual Symposium on Sports, Society, & Culture. In its context, they visited the major archaeological site of Ancient Olympia and engaged in discussions and organized activities with the CHS community. Their second stop was Nafplio, where Rowan and Rhys were introduced to the old town's history and beauty, and explored the surrounding ancient sites of the region. While in town, they also got to meet with local poets, exchange views and recite from their work, as well as attend an open-air performance at Epidaurus.

Following Rhys's departure, Rowan continued his residency in Athens. In the historic city and capital of Greece, Rowan was guided to the Parthenon and the Acropolis Museum as well as the National Archaeological Museum, walked around Plaka, Monastiraki and other Athenian neighborhoods, and visited numerous cultural and archaeological sites. In one of such visits, Rowan was given an informative tour of the Museum of Cycladic Art by Ivor Zimmerman, Harvard student participating in the Museum of Cycladic Art summer internship program.
