Harvard's Center for Hellenic Studies will host a one-hour online event on Wednesday, February 23, addressing Philhellenism in Italy throughout the 19th century. Francesco Scalora, CHS Fellow in Philhellenism and Fellow at the Sicilian Institute for Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies “Bruno Lavagnini”, will give a talk on the subject of "The Long Italian Philhellenism", followed by a discussion with respondents Johanna Hanink, Professor of Classics at Brown University, Nicolas Prevelakis, Associate Senior Lecturer on Social Studies at Harvard University and CHS Assistant Director of Curricular Development, and Konstantina Zanou, Assistant Professor of Italian at Columbia University.
