From June 30 until July 15, 2022, four Harvard College students will join the CHS High School Summer Program (HSSP), as Teaching Fellows. The HSSP is organized by CHS Greece in cooperation with Harvard’s Committee on Degrees in Social Studies, and with the support of Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies, Harvard University. The TFs along with the HSSP faculty members plan, coordinate, and teach the college-level seminars. Their teaching internship has 2 phases: spring preparation in Cambridge, MA, and then the summer seminar in Nafplio. Program faculty members and managers, along with TFs and 16 senior high school students from Greece participate in daily sessions, which are taking place both in situ, at the Center’s premises (morning sessions) and the 1st Senior High School of Nafplio, and online (afternoon sessions).

She is especially interested in the intersection between social policy and how underprivileged people are treated by the legal system in practice. Besides joining HSSP this summer, she is working for a public defender’s office in Massachusetts, which serves indigent people who have been accused of crimes. In school, Tosca also studies studio art and enjoys drawing. Some of her other interests include listening to podcasts, wildlife conservation, and baking. She is a triplet, her favorite movie is When Harry Met Sally, and she has traveled to over 50 countries.

This summer, she is conducting senior thesis research regarding the intersection between modern hookup culture, 4th-wave feminism, and patriarchal propaganda. Alexa is also a huge nerd. She is the Co-President and Social Chair of the Harvard Horntails Quidditch Club (which she swears is a real sport and will happily show you videos of her team at Nationals this spring). She also enjoys creative writing, painting, photography, and Dungeons & Dragons. Before coming to Harvard, Alexa was a competitive speaker and taekwondo fighter.
