The Center for Hellenic Studies (Harvard University) and the École Normale Supérieure – Université Paris Sciences et Lettres (ENS–PSL) are pleased to host an online session of the collaborative program "Humanities in the Text."
This initiative brings together scholars working on Greek and Latin texts to explore the enduring significance of classical sources through translation, commentary, and interdisciplinary analysis. The project aims to highlight the central role of texts in the humanities while demonstrating how ancient writings continue to inspire contemporary research and teaching.
During this session, three contributors will present projects centered on particular ancient texts and discuss their interpretive approaches:
- Barbara Carè (University of Lausanne) – Astragali in Aristotle's Thought
- Enrico Piergiacomi (Center for Religious Studies, Bruno Kessler Foundation) – Metrodorus of Chios' Skeptical Infinity
- Roland Oetjen (University of Kiel) – Two Inscriptions of Rhamnus
Each presentation will be followed by discussion.
