Under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports

The Institute of Historical Research (I.H.R.) of the National Hellenic Research Foundation (N.H.R.F.), the Directorate of Primary Education of Argolis, the Directorate of Secondary Education of Argolis, Harvard University's Center for Hellenic Studies in Greece, and the Municipality of Nafplio are organizing a Training Seminar for Primary and Secondary Education Teachers on the topic: "The Teaching of History through Resources II." The Seminar will last two (2) days / sixteen (16) hours (including opening remarks, discussion sessions, and breaks, not including registration and reception time) and leads to a 16-hour Training Seminar certificate of attendance.

The ongoing changes that have taken place in recent years at national and international levels have shaped a particularly complex environment in education, where teachers are called upon to respond to a multitude of new, constantly changing roles and demands. This highlights the need and the request for support of educational work through systematic training programs. The subject of History is considered particularly significant, as it is related to the cultivation of historical consciousness and the development of ways of thinking and attitudes to life, while at the same time remaining complex and sensitive, subject to adverse phenomena and at risk of the distortion of its essence. For this reason, a Training Seminar is being organized to strengthen teachers' knowledge of historical methodological principles, the approach to the essence of historical events, and the systematic study of resources.

The Seminar is addressed to Primary and Secondary Education teachers, primarily from the Argolis prefecture and other prefectures, who belong to disciplines in which the teaching of History is assigned as a first, second, or third subject. The Training Seminar is offered free of charge; to register, submitting an application form is required, and selection will be based strictly on the date and time of application submission.
