Konstantinos Fakkas
Research topic during fellowship: Claudius and Greek Culture: From Upbringing to Imperial Ideology
Konstantinos Fakkas holds a PhD in History from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where he also completed his BA in History and Archaeology, and holds a Master of Advanced International Studies from the Vienna School of International Studies and the University of Vienna.
He currently teaches at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, covering both introductory and advanced topics in ancient Greek history. He has also taught at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki on subjects relating to Athenian democracy and the political and social history of Archaic and Classical Greece.
His research focuses on the interaction between Greek intellectual culture and Roman imperial governance, with particular emphasis on the role of Greek personnel in the Julio-Claudian administration. His work has been supported by fellowships from the State Scholarships Foundation, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Vienna School of International Studies, and Dodekanisiaki Melissa.
