Synopsis:
This year's Symposium, the 12th in the Sports, Society, and Culture series, will bring together scholars from around the world and students from Greece and Cyprus to Olympia and the IOA state-of-art premises to participate in plenary and breakout sessions designed to generate stimulating discussions on the role of women in sports and the Olympics. Through analyzing the experience of female athletes within and without Olympic contexts and examining the cultural poetics of women's sports from classical antiquity to the modern era, the group will have the chance to gain an in-depth understanding and knowledge of the 2023 topic.
