Overview
The Center for Hellenic Studies (CHS) offers a limited number of residential postdoctoral fellowships in Hellenic Studies for four weeks from June 10 to July 8, 2026. During this time, recipients are expected to be in residence at the CHS and to devote full time to their study projects. Fellows will receive a stipend of $6,000, housing at CHS, and assistance with travel expenses to and from Washington. All fellows receive an appointment for one year, beginning in May, which provides them with full access to the resources of the Harvard library system.
The purpose of the residential fellowship program is to encourage and support scholarship of the highest quality on topics related to ancient Greek civilization (e.g., archaeology, art history, epigraphy, history, literary criticism, philology, philosophy, pedagogical applications, reception, and interdisciplinary studies). This fellowship is intended for those postdoctoral scholars for whom a fellowship during the academic year is unfeasible. We especially welcome applications from non-tenure-track faculty, independent scholars, and faculty from small departments.
