CHS and the Special Secretariat of Foresight at Harvard's Worldwide Week

During the week of October 7, CHS Greece and CHS US, together with the Special Secretariat of Foresight of the Hellenic Republic, co-organized two significant events as part of their developing collaboration, addressing the evolving role of artificial intelligence and its challenges.

The first event, titled "Education and AI Ethics," took place on October 8 at Harvard's Mahindra Humanities Center as part of Worldwide Week at Harvard. The keynote speaker, Charalambos Tsekeris, joined respondent Ofrit Liviatan to discuss AI's ethical implications in education. This event was co-organized by CHS Greece and US, the Special Secretariat of Foresight, and the Pedagogies for Life Seminar of the Mahindra Humanities Center.

On October 9, a second event was held at the Consulate General of Greece in Boston, featuring a discussion on "Greece and AI." Charalambos Tsekeris presented Greece’s strategic approach to AI, exploring both ethical dimensions and the potential of AI to shape a sustainable future. Co-organized by the Consulate General, CHS US and Greece, and the Special Secretariat of Foresight, the event was a platform for examining AI’s broader societal impacts.

Throughout his visit to the U.S. and Boston, Charalambos Tsekeris, Interim Chair of the Greek National Commission for Bioethics & Technoethics, Senior Research Fellow of the Greek National Center for Social Research and Member of the Greek Prime Minister's High-Level Advisory Committee on Artificial Intelligence, along with representatives from CHS Greece and US participated in a series of meetings with the shared aim of strengthening international efforts to develop a common understanding and discussion on issues of AI Ethics and Regulation, as well as highlighting the central role that Greece can play in this timely and significant field of research and study.
