The 2024–2025 CHS Fellows’ academic visit to the Center for Hellenic Studies in Washington, D.C.
Six research fellows of the Center for Hellenic Studies for the academic year 2024–2025 (Angelos Gkotsinas, Georgios Koukovasilis, Sergios Menelaou, Artemi Papandritsa, Evgenia Tsafou, and Chrysa Theologou), who are conducting their research in Greece, along with CHS Programs and Events Manager, Evan Katsarelis, traveled to the United States and the Center for Hellenic Studies in Washington, D.C. (CHS US), from April 29 to May 9.
During their stay, the group had the opportunity to visit some of the most important historical and cultural landmarks of the U.S. capital, gaining knowledge and experiences along the way. A significant highlight of their visit was their participation in discussions held at the Center, during which each fellow presented their current research, exchanged ideas, and received constructive feedback from members of the CHS academic community in the United States.
This immersive experience of learning and cultural enrichment aims not only to support the academic progress of the fellows but also to contribute to their professional and personal development. It constitutes an integral part of the broader contribution of the Center—both in Greece and in the U.S.—to research and to the vital role that the humanities play in today’s world.
