CHS Greece announces the beginning of the applications' submission to the new workshop "Gender-neutral/Inclusive Language. Gender stereotypes and linguistic sexism," which will be coordinated by Nikoletta Tsitsanoudis-Mallidis, Professor of Linguistics and Greek Language, University of Ioannina, CHS in Greece Associate in Linguistics, Scientific Coordinator of the International Summer University "Greek Language, Culture, and Media" and Head of the Greek Language, Culture and Mass Media Unit of the Laboratory for the Study of Social Issues, Mass Media and Education, Department of Early Childhood Education, University of Ioannina.

In this workshop, we will discuss a series of cutting-edge language issues concerning the use of words that nurture or maintain sexist stereotypes. We will discuss the linguistic representations and forms that sexism takes in the workplace, in the media, and in education, while we will also examine the attitudes of native speakers towards it. We will shed light on the term "inclusive language" as part of an effort to avoid sexist language use and expand a language that stands fairly beside gender and social classes. A language that does not only favor biological or social sex, excluding groups of people.
