Ermioni Prokopaki
Early Career Fellow in Hellenic Studies 2025-26
Ancient Philosophy Scholar, Fellow at the University of Chicago
Research topic during fellowship: The Teleological Structure of the Human Intellect
Ermioni Prokopaki received her PhD in August 2023 from the Department of Philosophy at the University of Chicago, upon completion of her doctoral dissertation on the threat of relativism in Plato's Theaetetus. Her work is focused on the role that truth plays in human epistemic psychology and specifically on the Platonic claim that our epistemic psychology is teleologically organized towards the truth. She is currently pursuing specific questions on the interrelation of our capacity for perception and our capacity for judgment in Plato and Aristotle, as well as on understanding the very task of aiming at the truth.
