During the “Evening of poetry”, co-organized by the CHS and the Fougaro Cultural Complex and held under the auspices of the Municipality of Nafplio, the British poets and poets from the Argolid read their works to a rapt audience. (The English poems were translated into flowing Greek by Anna Stavrakopoulou and read by local actors and poets. I. Petropoulos chaired the panels.) The British poets also toured Messolonghi, Delphi, and Athens, where they visited archaeological and other sites and participated in the Poetry and Translation “Paros Symposium”. The symposium allowed them to work with fellow poets from Greece and the US on the translation of poems.
