The international group of undergraduate and graduate student-participants, spend 5 days in Olympia, taking advantage of the environment, the IOA premises, the Olympia site, and the workshop sessions and lectures with the participating faculty. Aiming to offer the opportunity for a more active engagement of young researchers, graduate students are selected to present their research connected to each year’s topic. In addition to lectures, the symposium places emphasis on the blended learning approach. Students have access to a list of core readings in advance of the symposium. Presentations are followed by workshops during which the students reflect on the themes of the presentations in small groups. The symposium is open to junior and senior undergraduate students, masters, and PhD candidates from departments in Greece, Cyprus, US and Canada, and application is required.
