The Municipality of Nafplio, DOPPAT, and the Basil Papantoniou Foundation co-organize events to honor the memory of the 100 years since the Asia Minor Catastrophe. CHS Greece, in support of the initiative, hosts an event on November 9 with Cleo Gougoulis who will speak on the topic: "The settlement and integration of refugees in Palea Fokea, Attica." The talk will follow the refugees' settlement and integration in Palea Fokea of Attica from 1924 until the beginning of the 21st century, the relations of the refugees with the local populations as well as the shifting of the boundaries between the different population groups. Examples of everyday life and particularly the play of the children of Fokea (end of the 20th cen.) will provide the framework for better understanding the differences between the aforementioned groups.
