Synopsis:

Combining two monumental anniversaries, 100 years since the discovery of insulin and 200 years since the Greek Revolution, this events includes two talks. The first one will be from the historian Stephanos Kavallierakis and engage with the history of the preparations for the Greek War of Independence in 1821; and the second one by Professor Christos Mantzoros will reflect on the 100-years-long history and the future of insulin and the modern antidiabetic treatments, bringing together insights and data from the Greek Revolution. Prior to the event, CHS Greece will host in its lecture hall the registration center for the invited participants. Limited number of seats will be available at the Vouleftikon building for extra audience, while there will also be a live streaming of the event online for the general public.
