Melina Tamiolaki is an Associate Professor in Ancient Greek Literature at the University of Crete (Department of Philology) and an Affiliated Researcher at the Institute for Mediterranean Studies - Foundation for Research & Technology Hellas. She specializes in Greek historiography. She is the author of the monograph Liberté et esclavage chez les historiens grecs classiques (Presses Universitaires Paris-Sorbonne, 2010), which won the Zappas Award of the Association des Etudes grecques de Paris (2011). She has published numerous articles and several collective volumes. Her research has received funding from various institutions, such as Harvard's CHS, the Princeton Seeger Program in Hellenic Studies, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the European Foundation for Education and European Culture (IPEP), the States Scholarship Foundation (IKY), and the University of Crete.
