Current visitors of Harvard Ed Portal’s Crossings Gallery at Allston, Cambridge MΑ, will come across a 20x30-inch painting that shows an anthropomorphic Greek mythological titan woman surrounded by more than a dozen other female figures. The painting “Mnemosyne, Mother of the Muses” was created by M. Zoie Lafis, Executive Director of CHS US, who is among the 242 Harvard staff participating in this year’s Harvard Staff Art Show.

The Director of the Center for Hellenic Studies participates in the Olympic Torch Relay "Paris 2024"

April 17, 2024

Mark Schiefsky, Director of the Center for Hellenic Studies, was selected and proudly participated as a torchbearer in the Olympic Torch Relay "Paris 2024" route in Nafplio on April 17. He was among the flame bearers of the city, running with the torch from Syntagma Square to Philhellene Square, which is located right in front of our headquarters in Greece. Following the route in Nafplio, the flame was delivered to the members of the International Olympic Committee, who carried it to its next destination.
