It is open to all, in person in Nafplio and online. Bringing together playfully the writing (text) and walking (place) aspects of the word "footnote," it aims to bring together artists, academics, philosophers, and creative practitioners to reflect on the transdisciplinary character of walking as an aesthetic, performative, ritualistic, and technopoetic process that links body, landscape, embodied media, and more-than-human worlds.

The symposium marks a meeting of critical reflections following Ridha Dhib's arrival in Nafplio on November 5, 2026, as part of his long-duration walking performance Mnémosyne (July – November 2026), a walk of one hundred days from France to Greece combining biometric data, GPS, and proof-of-presence protocols.

The international symposium is organized by the Department of Performing and Digital Arts, University of the Peloponnese, and curated by Assistant Professors Bill Psarras and Athena Stourna. It is held in cooperation with Walk-Listen-Create and hosted by the Center for Hellenic Studies in Greece, Harvard University.

Learn more on the "Footnotes: A symposium on walking art, ritual and technology" website.
