Greek Ombudsman: “Nafplion Group” 3rd meeting
Greek Ombudsman, hosted by CHS Greece, under the aegis of the Council of Europe
This is the third meeting of the "Nafplion Group", which is an initiative of the Greek Ombudsman and peer institutions from across the European Union. The meeting, just like the ones in 2018 and 2019, is hosted by CHS Greece, and it offers Greek Ombudsman Andreas Pottakis and his counterparts from other Member States the opportunity to share views, challenges, and best practices on matters related to human rights monitoring of forced return operations of third country nationals. The meetings of the “Nafplion Group” initiative have already led to the creation of an independent mechanism for the external control of forced returns of third country nationals at European Union level (Rome, October 7-9, 2019). The meeting is open to a limited number of participants and an invitation is required.
