SUMMARY:The Examined Life visiting program
DESCRIPTION:
Administered by the Newton, Massachusetts Public Schools in cooperation with Brandeis University, “The Examined Life: Greek Studies in the Schools” professional program encourages US teachers and administrators, K-12, to apply for Greek Study Fellowships. The program is aimed at strengthening Greek studies in schools. Program leaders and thirty-three fellows visited Greece in April and CHS on April 22, 2015. The group used the Center’s lecture hall and digital facilities. Author in residence Gregory Maguire (whose book Wicked was turned into a Broadway play) gave an autobiographical lecture entitled "Each Odyssey Unique, Part II”. Local teachers and educators attended the lecture and met their American colleagues. Ioannis Petropoulos welcomed the group in behalf of CHS.
