SUMMARY:Princeton University
DESCRIPTION:
Eight of the nine classics professors from universities in the U.S. and Europe -- co-authors of the book “Postclassicism”-- gathered for a week to discuss and revise the essays that will form the main body of the book. They had a most successful week, following on a weeklong writing retreat in Cortona, Italy. The group achieved nearly a full draft of the book. “Postclassicism” is a collaborative project that aims to develop a critical vocabulary for reflecting on the study of classical antiquity in the early twenty-first century. The workshop was held under the auspices of Princeton University and was led by Professor Brooke Holmes.
