## At first acquaintance: Our site’s development story

We proudly announce the launch of Harvard’s Center for Hellenic Studies in Greece (“CHS Greece”) site and we welcome you to explore it!

After months of meticulous work by our staff, coordinated by [Christina Lafi](/staff/christina-lafi) and [Mina Tsentourou](/chsgreece/staff/mina-tsentourou), the Center in Greece found its unique new space in the worldwide web. We are happy to retain the same web address, the subdomain [greece.chs.harvard.edu](/); thus staying always connected to our metropolitan institution, the Center for Hellenic Studies in Washington, DC (“CHS US” or simply “CHS”), with which we have been sharing the same website until now; and at same time underscoring our operation as a Harvard global office and enhancing our web-connection with the University at large.

Along with CHS Greece’s growth for more than a decade since its inauguration, its resources, programs, collaborations, and information material flourished too, inducing the need for a separate and more robust web presence. Using the originally Harvard-developed and academic research institution-centric software Open Scholar, this need has been accommodated in the very site that you are now.

## Moving forwards

Our goal with this site is to facilitate you and every visitor to access the information you request from and about CHS Greece in the best possible way. We hope the fresh design and colors ease the navigation experience and set a more user-friendly environment. We have also worked a lot in providing a consistent and clear information structure inside the texts of our pages and posts, and following the University-wide policy adopted by Harvard, we are also invested in Digital Accessibility matters.

The information about all our programs and initiatives refers to their last iteration timewise and we will be updating them every time there is a new call for a returning activity.

Furthermore, one of our immediate future steps is to develop and offer a Greek version of our new site for our Greek-speaking audiences, so stay tuned.

## Moving backwards

An additional purpose of the CHS Greece site is to become an archive for all the activities since the beginning of its operation in Greece. Therefore, be aware that we will be importing older news posts and events, as well as adding people to the list of past fellows, gradually within the next year, to offer everyone the chance to learn more about us by browsing through our history.

## Offer your feedback

It goes without saying that your feedback for the new CHS Greece site will be highly appreciated. Afterall, this site is for you! Please let us know if something hinders your navigation or access to our material and if you have suggestions for new features to include, by sending your feedback via email at <chsnafplion@chs.harvard.edu> with subject “CHS Greece website feedback”.
