## Guest Post by Efraimia-Elisavet (Efeli) Souflia

As part of my academic journey as a student in the Department of Digital and Performing Arts at the University of the Peloponnese, based in Nafplio, I completed my internship at the Center for Hellenic Studies in Greece (CHS Greece), an initiative of Harvard University in Greece.

Under the guidance of Mr. Alexandros Eukleidis, Professor and Internship Supervisor of the Department, I joined the Center’s team as an intern, leveraging my background in digital arts to develop and manage content aimed at creative and effective communication.

My internship at CHS Greece marked my first collaboration with the organization—an experience characterized by innovation, inclusivity, and creativity. During this time, I worked closely with Ms. Christina Lafi, Projects and Content Development Manager at CHS Greece, actively contributing to enhancing the Center’s online presence through both audiovisual production and comprehensive social media management.

My role focused on creating strategic and aesthetically appealing content for programs and events, blending my personal artistic choices with the professional identity of the organization. I introduced new ideas and methodologies that led to a significant increase in the Center’s engagement and reach on social media, following the latest trends in digital communication for 2025.

A key part of my work involved the entire content production process—from strategic planning and scheduling posts to creating original videos and engaging daily with the audience. I developed weekly themed series that highlighted the connection between CHS Greece and both ancient and modern Greece, incorporating graphics, music, and narrative elements to produce content that enhances cultural outreach.

Another important area of my contribution was subtitling lengthy videos from events and activities, improving accessibility and supporting Harvard’s broader commitment to inclusive digital communication.

Additionally, I actively participated in supporting the migration of CHS Greece's websites from the OpenScholar platform to the new HarvardSites Drupal platform, assisting in content reorganization and aesthetic adaptation with the goal of accuracy, consistency, and functionality of the new website. In this context, I worked intensively on UX/UI design matters, ensuring that user experience and user interface met the needs of a modern, multilingual, and accessible academic audience.

Throughout my internship, I had the pleasure of collaborating with Ms. Matina Goga, Ms. Katerina Schoinochoriti, and Ms. Fani Kapetaniou, who warmly supported me and made me feel like a valued member of the team.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Mr. Christos Giannopoulos, Managing Director of CHS Greece, for his trust, support, and the opportunity to participate in the significant work of Harvard University in Greece. My internship at CHS Greece was a defining experience that strengthened not only my technical skills but also my strategic thinking and creative expression in the field of digital communication.

## Performing and Digital Arts Department Internship in Nafplio

As of 2022, the Center begins working with the Nafplio-based Department of Performing and Digital Arts of the University of the Peloponnese. Interns work together with CHS Greece staff on CHS's digital projects to further enhance their academic and professional skills by being exposed to Harvard's and CHS's resources and overall agenda. Additionally, interns work with the DPDA supervisors and CHS Greece staff in carrying out thesis research and other course projects while preparing a complete bibliography on a subject, which is made available to fellow students and professors to further support teaching and research in the department.
