 This important online international conference focuses on performance and performativity, both of which represent an aspect of pre-modern Greek literature and culture that has not yet received sufficient attention. Renowned scholars will focus on performativity in its broadest sense across genres in an attempt to trace its function in various contexts, thus aiming to contribute to the growing field of performance studies and their application in the fields of Late Antiquity and Byzantium with new material and perspectives.
