  • Angeliki Spiropoulou, professor of Modern European Literature and Theory and chair of the Theatre Studies Department, University of the Peloponnese, on the topic of the notion of classical in Eliot and Modernism
  • Christina Dokou, assistant professor of American Literature and Culture at the Department of English Language and Literature, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, on the topic of the participation of myth in Eliot's work

Synopsis:

On the occasion of 100 years since the first edition of the poem "The Waste Land", an event is held dedicated to T.S. Eliot (Thomas Stearns Eliot). Eliot is considered one of the major 20th-century poets and a leading figure of Modernism in poetry. In 1948 he was awarded the Nobel prize for Literature.

The event will be in Greek and broadcasted live through the CHS Greece YouTube channel.
