    The CHS Summer Internship Program in Greece marked its eleventh year. It was restructured in summer 2015; the program offered in 2016 internships closely linked to the academic studies and professional development of the participants.

    Interns worked with Kenny Morrell, Nicolas Prevelakis, Nicole Newendorp, and all supervisors.     Annual Panhellenic Philosophical Competition

    The Ministry of Education, the University of Patras (Department of Philosophy), the Greek Philosophical Society, and CHS GR co-organized the 5th Panhellenic Philosophical Competition for high schools in April 2016, with the support of the Panhellenic Association of Philologists. The final round of the competition was held in Patras. The CHS GR Director serves ex officio as a member of the National Organizing Committee. The Center provides book prizes for the three national winners every year.

    Harvard Alumni Association Spring Break trip to Greece

    Through a series of lectures and meetings arranged by the CHS the program broadened the participants experience and exploration of ancient and modern Greece.

    For an 8th year, the Center supported this important HAA initiative, which featured a number of special events in Nafplio, including a reception at the CHS on March 14, 2016. Gregory Nagy led the group of undergraduate and postgraduate students and alumni on the tour.

    CHS GR, in cooperation with CHS DC and the Harvard Office of International Education, organized for a fourth year the Greek section of Harvard’s International Photo Contest.

    The contest is open to Harvard students who have participated in summer programs abroad. The CHS, represented by Nicolas Prevelakis and Teresa Wu, awarded a prize to undergraduate Frank DuBose for the best photo taken in Greece and honorary mention to three other contestants.
